Brown & Brown reports Claude access for over 6,000 staff

The insurance broker plans to fund AI in annual stages. Its January results call will set out spending and expected benefits for 2027.

Brown & Brown deployed Claude to more than 6,000 employees in 45 days, chief executive Powell Brown told its 27 October earnings call. He said more than 90% were actively using it, without defining the measurement period.[1][2]

Across the wider business, he listed AI uses in prospecting, insurance submissions, claims analysis and data extraction. The company is bringing another group of employees onto Claude.[1]

Brown also reported a new value management office to measure investment and returns by initiative. He said AI funding would proceed in annual stages tied to expected returns.[1]

Asked when rising technology costs would be offset by benefits, he pointed to the January earnings call. Management plans to disclose 2027 spending and projected benefits then.[1]
