The useful result after an event is a list of people you can recognise and contact accurately. A stack of cards contains the details, but it does not separate this week’s introductions from older contacts already on your phone.
Covve describes its scanner’s AI as mapping card text into contact fields, including names, companies, email addresses and phone numbers. That assignment is what you will check against the paper cards.[1]
This is a documentation-based workflow; we did not scan cards or inspect an exported file. Use the current Covve Scan phone app with an eligible subscription or trial. Essential includes groups and Excel export.[2]
A trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled. Manage cancellation through the service that took the payment: Apple, Google or Covve directly. Check those terms before starting a trial for this task.[3]
In the three-line menu at the top left, choose Sign up / Login and sign in with your email. Signed-in cards are backed up to your account.[4]
Read the card and the record together
Start with a few cards from one event. Tap Scan and select Card. Put a card on a plain surface, avoid glare, fill the frame and hold the phone steady. Review the populated fields before tapping Save.[5]
Compare the person’s name, company and title with their correct fields. Read the email address character by character, then the phone number. Two people at the same company need two records; two cards from the same person need closer inspection before you count them as separate contacts.
If a scan fails or a detail remains unreadable, retake it with the entire card visible. Offline captures wait for a connection before processing completes. An apparently stalled scan may simply be queued.[5]
For a card that still will not read, open the scan menu and choose Add manually. Enter the details you can establish from the card and tap Save. Use that checked record for the event group.[6]
Make the event the unit of work
On the contact list, tap New Group on the filter row and give it an event name and date. Select the checked contacts, then tap Save. To add a later contact, open it, find Groups, tap Add, choose the existing group, then tap Save.[7]
Open the filter icon, choose the event under Groups and tap Apply. Inspect the resulting list before selecting it. The Date filter can narrow the batch further when the group spans several sessions.[7]
Count the people you intend to follow up with and compare that number with the filtered list. Investigate a mismatch while the cards are still beside you. This check tests your grouping as well as the scanner’s reading.
Take the checked batch with you
From the filtered list, tap Select → Select all → Export cards. Choose Excel. In the phone’s share sheet, choose a file-storage destination you can reopen. The export copies the contacts and leaves them in Covve.[8]
Open the saved spreadsheet and compare its contact-row count with the selected batch. Check several names and email addresses against the cards, including any record you entered manually. Keep the event name and date in the filename so the file still makes sense outside the app.
Check whether any essential notes reached the file: Covve’s help page leaves that unconfirmed. Add your own next-action notes to the working sheet when needed, then save.[8]
The finished sheet should tell you whom to contact and which introduction they belong to. Keep the original cards until that check is complete, particularly where a stylised letter or faint digit needed a second look.
