Giotto launches Solo and Alto with three ways to host AI

The Swiss company offers shared cloud, isolated servers and local installations. Its published terms distinguish free evaluation from paid business use.

Giotto announced Solo and Alto on 27 October, offering reasoning models on European cloud or compatible customer hardware. Solo is designed for one GPU; Alto uses eight NVIDIA B300s, according to the Lausanne company.[1]

What the documents allow

The individual end-user licence on Giotto’s website grants access solely for non-commercial testing and evaluation. It defines a 12-month free usage period and reserves the company’s ability to offer different terms for continued use. That document is more specific than the headline promise of free access.[2]

The API agreement separately authorises paid business use and integration into a customer’s own applications, products or services. It explains that a single-concurrency subscription permits a new request only when the previous request finishes; other subscriptions can permit simultaneous requests.[3]

A flat fee therefore answers a cost question before it answers a capacity question. In a simple hypothetical, two staff submit long jobs together: a single-concurrency connection must finish the first before starting the second. The speed of that queue still depends on the model and workload.[3]

Giotto retains the model’s intellectual property, while the individual licence restricts redistribution and extraction of its parameters. Local hosting concerns where the software runs; the relevant licence determines what the customer may do with it. The launch widens the hosting choice within a commercial software offering.[2]
