Google’s Flight Deals connects a flexible travel idea with actual flight inventory. AI interprets the type of trip you describe and identifies possible destinations and dates; Google Flights then finds matching fares.[1]
Google’s November 2025 expansion included the UK, more than 200 countries and territories, and over 60 languages. This documentation-based guide uses current help pages checked on 12 October 2026; it does not report a completed booking or a live fare test.[2]
Give your flexibility a useful shape
Open Flight Deals and describe your trip. Try an original brief such as: “Three nights from London in November, somewhere with museums and a walkable centre, direct flights, economy.” Add the exact airports and date boundaries that suit you.[1]
Decide what can move before searching. Perhaps the destination is open but the return date is fixed. Perhaps you can leave on several days but need a particular airport. The useful brief preserves your real constraints while giving the search room to find alternatives.
Flight Deals remains a beta. Multi-city trips, groups above four people, specific passenger types such as infants, and particular stopovers may return no results.[3]
Read the discount against its comparator
Google calculates a typical price from the median of the cheapest fares found for a route over the previous 12 months, accounting for season, trip length and cabin. Selected airline and stop filters also matter. A savings badge requires a fare at least 20% below that comparator.[3]
A larger discount can accompany a higher fare
| Illustrative route | Typical comparison fare | Current fare | Calculated discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Route A | £300 | £225 | 25%Source 3 |
| Route B | £160 | £144 | 10%Source 3 |
Route A clears the badge threshold, while Route B costs £81 less. Google ranks badged results by percentage saving, breaking ties by price. Unbadged results rank by fare.[3]
Use that comparison to ask two questions: how unusual is the fare for this trip, and how well does it fit your budget? A discount becomes useful when the destination and journey also suit you.
Turn an interesting result into a workable journey
In Google Flights, inspect the selected dates, airports, passengers and cabin. Filters include stops, airlines and flight times. Select a flight for each leg; the booking choice usually takes you to an airline or travel agency to complete the purchase. Prices can change before booking.[4]
Check the hours you would actually spend at the destination. For a three-night trip, a late arrival and early return may leave much less visiting time than the night count suggests. Write down the door-to-door travel assumptions for your two favourite options before choosing.
Use the Bags filter to include relevant carry-on or checked-bag charges in displayed fares. Google receives baggage information from partners; airline size and weight rules still vary, and estimated charges can have additional government taxes. The filter normally updates prices rather than removing flights.[5]
Keep a promising route under review
If you want to wait, choose the route, cabin, stops and number of tickets in Google Flights, then enable Track prices. You can follow selected dates or Any dates. The latter can email you when a route’s minimum price falls significantly over a month, or send regular available-price updates when it does not.[6]
The Tracked flights page lets you reopen the route, turn emails off or remove it. Keep only options you would seriously consider taking. That gives a flexible idea a practical next step: a short list of journeys, each with understandable costs and usable dates.[6]
