Jeppesen plans AI agents to check a trip before the operator commits

Five business-aviation partners are helping develop Trip Feasibility and Ops Briefing for ForeFlight Dispatch. A wider rollout is planned for early 2027.

Jeppesen ForeFlight announced two AI agents for business aviation on 16 October: Trip Feasibility for evaluating itineraries before acceptance, and Ops Briefing for preparing planners at shift changes. They are being developed with Axis Aviation, Aircraft Service Group, Thrive Aviation, JetHouse and Sparfell, with a broader rollout planned for early 2027.[1]

Both agents sit within ForeFlight Dispatch. Trip Feasibility checks permits, weather, sanctions and airport restrictions, including customs availability, operating hours, parking and requirements for advance permission or a slot.[1]

In a hypothetical case, an evening arrival could conflict with customs hours. Finding that mismatch before accepting the trip would let the planner propose a different time or airport.

A further input is the NOTAM: a notice of a change or unusual condition affecting aviation facilities, services, procedures or hazards. These notices use specialised abbreviations. The FAA’s definition makes the distinction clear: they describe abnormal status, rather than a full account of normal operations. A planner has to read them against the trip being proposed.[3]

Jeppesen’s separate ClearNOTAMs feature translates abbreviated notices into plain-language summaries while displaying the original data alongside them. Announced in its wider October product update, that feature tackles the reading task; Trip Feasibility tackles how the information bears on an itinerary.[2]

Ops Briefing automatically combines NOTAMs with current and forecast weather for planners starting a shift.[1]

The company plans to demonstrate the agents at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas on 20–22 October.[2]
