Notion’s 13 October update gives people who already subscribe to ChatGPT another place to use that subscription: Notion Agent. The connection is available in Business and Enterprise workspaces. It lets a person use a GPT model against their ChatGPT allowance while working inside Notion.[1]
Members can connect personal ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Go accounts. Guests cannot use this, and it covers Notion Agent, not Custom Agents.[2]
Connect the account, then choose the allowance
The following steps are documented by Notion; we have not tested the connection.
- Open Settings, then Notion AI and Usage.
- Under Connected subscriptions, connect ChatGPT and complete sign-in.
- Back in Notion Agent, select a specific GPT model.
- Check the model picker’s plan indicator before sending.
That GPT selection draws on ChatGPT. Choosing Auto or a non-GPT model uses the workspace’s Notion credits.[2]
At the ChatGPT limit, Notion asks to switch to workspace credits. It returns to ChatGPT funding when usage becomes available.[2]
Those workspace credits are a shared resource. Notion sells them as an add-on for Business and Enterprise plans, covering premium models, Custom Agents and additional AI usage beyond the plan’s allowance. An administrator manages purchases and can inspect consumption in the credits dashboard. Switching to that pool therefore draws on a different budget.[3]
The work still belongs in Notion
The agent still works within the permissions of the person using it. Notion’s guide says it normally takes context from the open page, with selected blocks narrowing the focus; additional pages can be supplied through mentions. Connecting a personal subscription does not give the agent access to a colleague’s restricted document.[4]
For an existing subscriber, the practical decision is where to spend a finite allowance. A session based on material already in Notion may be a useful place to use it. The account connection and the model choice are separate decisions, so make both deliberately.
Notion says the connection attributes billing and usage; conversations do not enter ChatGPT history or memory. Its existing agreements with AI subprocessors still apply.[2]
