Rewrite a MIDI passage with Rinoa Fill

Keep a melody while changing its accompaniment.

Imagine a bass line that becomes busy beneath a quiet four-bar melody. The rest of the arrangement works. A useful revision would give that passage more space while keeping the tune’s character.

This is a documentation-based exercise, checked on 29 October 2026; we did not generate or listen to a Rinoa result.

A MIDI file holds timed performance instructions, including which notes to play. A sound engine supplies the sound. Editing those instructions lets you revise a phrase’s pitches and durations.[3]

Open Rinoa’s browser-based Studio and sign in to save and export.[2][4]

Select the passage

Choose Import → Import MIDI File. Drag on the timeline ruler to select the passage; select the bass track. Fill appears in the agent panel. With no track selected, it rewrites all MIDI tracks there; audio-only tracks are skipped.[1][4]

Optional prompt: “Sparse bass, sustained notes” (our example). Click Fill; surrounding parts provide context.[1]

For the invented exercise, listen from before the changed passage and continue past its end. Does the bass leave room for the melody? Does it arrive convincingly at the next section? A pleasing fragment can still make an awkward transition when heard inside the whole piece.

Keep an editable version

Double-click the region for piano-roll editing. Export MIDI, or bounce WAV/MP3 audio.[1]

Keep both kinds of output when sharing a revision. MIDI preserves the editable instructions; an audio file preserves the rendered sound. Different playback instruments can make the same MIDI sound different, as the MIDI Association explains.[3]

Compare the original and revised arrangements at the same playback settings. Keep the version that gives the melody the space you intended.
