Taboola plans to put its DeeperDive answer engine on the lock screens of selected Motorola moto g smartphones, extending an existing relationship that already supplies content recommendations. The company announced the arrangement on 28 October.[1]
Users will be able to ask questions and receive AI-generated answers informed by publisher material, then explore related stories and follow-up topics.[1]
Named markets include the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico and Argentina. The announcement does not identify individual eligible handsets or country-by-country start dates.[1]
DeeperDive has run within publisher websites since 2025, including those of USA TODAY Co. and HuffPost UK. The new placement would let someone start with a question before visiting a publisher, with related stories offering a route onward.[1]
The cost of distribution
Taboola’s filing for the quarter ended 30 June describes a wider business funded by advertisers, with payments to digital partners whose properties carry its platform. Revenue sharing is the most common compensation model. Another arrangement pays the greater of a revenue share or a guaranteed amount per thousand page views.[2]
This creates two distinct questions for a distribution expansion: how much business the placement generates, and what Taboola must pay for it. The Motorola announcement gives neither financial terms nor a revenue forecast for the integration.[1][2]
