Use Topaz Video to steady a clip and reduce motion blur

The two filters tackle different faults. A short preview helps you judge the correction before exporting the whole video.

Start with an activated copy of Topaz Video on a compatible Mac or Windows computer and your source clip. This route follows Topaz’s documentation.[2][3]

Stabilization repositions frames to counter camera movement. Motion Deblur uses the Themis AI model to address blur within them.[1]

  1. Import the clip, choose Start from scratch, then enable Stabilization near the bottom of the right-hand Adjustments panel.
  2. Choose Auto Crop to remove exposed edges, accepting a smaller frame. Full Frame preserves frame size by filling edges, which can look blurred.
  3. Switch on Motion Deblur. Set In and Out around a representative shaky section, then choose Render In → Out.
  4. Compare the preview’s subject and edges. If the crop cuts into the subject or filled edges distract, lower stabilisation strength or switch framing modes, then preview again.
  5. Set In at the clip’s start and Out at its end. Choose Export As to set a new filename and destination. When the export finishes, use Open in External Player in the queue menu and watch the complete clip.
